Last week in March

6th grade math: Students will work on lessons 86-88.  We will be focusing on finding the areas of triangles, square roots, and comparing negative numbers.

7th grade math: Students will work on lessons 80-82. We will be focusing on percent increases and doing multiplication and division problems with signed numbers.

8th grade math: Students will work on 77-80. We will focus on rate = distance/time problems. We will also be working on rational expressions and perfecting our scientific notation skills.

7/8 Science: Students will start an electricity and magnetism unit. We will first review the basics to magnets and electricity. We will then explore this concept in a solar energy lab.

6 Science: Students will start an energy unit. We will explore the different forms of energy, and play a matching game to review them.

5 Science: Students will be germinating different vegetable seeds this week. They will be studying to different steps to this process and drawing pictures to illustrate them.
