This week in class we will be focusing on the following
6th grade math: We will be working on lessons 71-74. Students will also be working on creating images using what they know about the coordinate graph system. They will have a pretest on Wednesday and Test 11 on Friday.
7th grade math: We will be working on lessons 69-72. Students will be working on showing how to add integers on a number line, and then watching a brain-pop video on adding and subtracting integers. They will have a pretest on Wednesday and Test 11 on Friday.
8th grade math: This is an important week for 8th grade since we will be focusing on factoring trinomials.Students will practice these for homework and play a game to practice them in class. They will have a pretest on Wednesday and Test 11 on Friday.
7/8 Science: Students will spend Monday and Tuesday reviewing for a quiz on Wednesday on Energy sources and conversions. See the study guide I sent home to help them study. Thursday and Friday they will preform a "soaring straws" lab that focuses on elastic potential energy.
6 Science: Students will explore the parts of the volcano and draw their own diagrams listing the different parts. Then we will learn more about the different kinds of magma and eruptions. We will end the week by watching a video on one of the most famous Volcanic eruptions in history, Mt. St. Helens.
5 Science: Students will spend Monday and Tuesday reviewing asexual reproduction in plants. Their quiz will be on Wednesday, and then the focus will be turned onto sexual reproduction in plants. See the study guide I sent home to help them study for their quiz. They will study the parts of the flower and how they work together to reproduce.
